As the tittle suggests I'll be not as active because of what my doctor just told me this morning. She had finally gotten my MRI(Magentic Resonance Imaging) results and it isn't good news.
I have a HTL(Highly Torn Ligament) in my left knee on the ALC(Anteriro Cruciate Ligament). It's so badly damaged that my knee is hanging by a few strands of ligament. If I hurt it again, it'll be completely torn and can no longer be saved. So I'll need surgery within the next month or I have a high risk of losing my knee and the rest of lower leg. The doctor has arrange for me to see a orthopedic surgeon within a week for exploratory surgery, to see if it's worth fixing with basic surgery or they have to do something more complex.
However; this comes bittersweet for me. You see, they originally thought I had a bakers cyst from a floor hockey accident. For the past four years I've been doing treatments that should've helped for my cyst in that same knee. However; treatments didn't help, it only made it worse but whenever I ask for more testing, no one believed me. So when I hurt my knee again two weeks ago, only did my family doctor finally caved in and arranged another MRI.
They misdiagnosed it. It wasn't a cyst that they had seen on my older MRI but torn ligaments. In a ball. The treatment for the bakers cyst caused more damage to the point it's needs surgery ASAP or else.
So...I'm in a mixed mood. Yes I'm upset it took four years for them to finally give in for more testing but I'm also very relived that I was right and now it's going to be fixed. So because of this emergency, I'll be gone for awhile. School's also making me very busy so it'll be awhile till I get back.
